JRU names new coach (4:50 p.m.)

MANILA -- The Jose Rizal University (JRU) Heavy Bombers named Vergel “The Arial Voyager” Meneses as its new coach replacing Ariel Vanguardia.

Meneses, a former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Most Valuable Player, is also an alumnus of the Bombers squad.

In this year's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Vanguardia and the Heavy Bombers failed to step into the Finals after bowing down to champion team San Sebastian Golden Stags.
