"This will just be among the series of trail runs we will hold in the region," Ang said.
Ang, speaking at the regular Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn Thursday, said Emata, who owns the Everest Outdoors, will be on hand to give lectures as side events of the trail run that is backed up by PIPBR management.
"In Davao City, we are used to holding road races. We rarely hold trail runs that are very popular abroad. We want to promote trail running as an option for adventure and outdoor enthusiasts," Ang said.
He added that start and finish will be at the PIPBR but 99 percent of the trail will be outside the resort.
Registration fee is pegged at P300 inclusive of singlet, packed meal and entrance fee at PIPBR.
Cash prizes of P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000 will go to top three finishers in men's and women's open categories. Merchandise items will also be given away.
Interested participants may visit Everest Outdoors shop located at the Wheels N' More Badminton compound drive along J.P. Laurel Avenue or may contact Ang at mobile number (0922) 8293370. (MLSA)
