MyPhone: The Pinoy phone

WHO would have thought that Filipino customs and traditions like praying the angelus, telling the ever corny Filipino street jokes, listening to baduy but much loved original Pilipino music, and even the singing of Karaoke can actually reshape an entire industry?

Mobile phone companies coming from Korea, China, Finland, USA, and even Singapore have dominated the highly competitive mobile phone industry, for the longest time.

And reshape did these Filipino traits do to the mobile phone industry as MyPhone launched its Pinoyphone line, is slowly creating its own niche. With barely two years of existence, MyPhone has already acquired two percent of the market share of the entire country.

"The entry of the Pinoy phone shifts the refinement to its content by addressing what the ordinary man on the street would find interesting to have on his mobile phone whenever or wherever he maybe," Roy Garcia, proprietor of the MyPhone concept store in Davao City, said.

With Myphone's launch of its unique Pinoyphone content it becomes easy to access what Pinoy's would normally want to hear, know and entertain themselves with during lull moments.

Ranging from Bible scriptures, novenas, morning prayers, Filipino history, trivias about Filipinos and their nuances, jokes, and karaoke, truly make the Pinoyphone series truly exude what it is to be Filipino.

"These and more are contained or imbedded inside the phone's memory chip in either audio, image and textformat," Garcia said adding the Pinoyphone series is the answer to the clamor for a more customized phone for the Filipinos.

This groundbreaking approach is a welcome step in keeping Pinoy's constantly linked to their unique culture, history and strong sense of piety when they have their Pinoyphones within reach.

"It appeals to all age groups and a sure hit with moms who would want their kids to learn Catholic prayers. Young adults in a barkada can break into its karaoke function or reminisce songs of the ApoHiking Society and other old time hits. For seasoned citizensthey would find religious images for wallpapers and prayers a big help as even the Holy Bible is inside this phone," Garcia said.

Even overseas Filipino workers can now have a cure for their homesick syndromes by finding the comfort of home in their unit of Pinoyphones.

"The Pinoyphone will surely put him virtually around his beloved Pinas," Garcia said.

Mobile Networks, the Davao dealer of MyPhone is confident that the Pinoyphone series will make every Pinoy proud of their identity.

"Explore and decide for yourself the advantage of owning a Pinoyphone for as low as P2,990 for its B21 model or P3,950 for its MS28 model," Garcia said.

Myphone was started by the Solid Broadband Corporation (Solid Group) of the Lim family, the same family behind the distribution of Sony in the country, dubbed as the first Filipino brand in the mobile phone industry.

Truly, the Pinoyphone series of Myphone is a Filipino phone for the Filipino.
