DPLC chessfest slated Sunday

THE 11th Doa Pilar Weekly Under-12 Kiddies Chess Tournament will get going on Sunday at the Doa Pilar Learning Center in Sasa, Davao City.

Some 20 kiddie chessers are expected to see action in the five-round format competition organized by Sherwin Orbeta.

The champion will receive a trophy courtesy of the City Council while the second, third, fourth and fifth placers will claim medals.

The top boy and girl performers will also get special prizes from the event supported by council and DPLC.

Registration is pegged at P25 in the tournament that aims to promote chess development among the city's youth.
