Alaska stakes unblemished slate today

AFTER a short break, the Philippine Basketball Association resumes the 35th Philippine Cup with the traditional double-header as solo leader Alaska stakes its unbeaten slate against an equally dangerous Sta. Lucia Realors tonight at the Araneta Coliseum.

Alaska, sporting a 4-0 win-loss card faces current second placer Realtors at 7:30 p.m, after the San Miguel Beer-Rain or Shine battle in the curtain raiser at 5 p.m.

The long 10-day rest may take its toll on the Aces, whose last game was against Ginebra, 105-96, last Oct. 25.

On the other hand, the Realtors are fresh from their 101-93 triumph over Burger King last Friday and are hoping to snatch its fourth win.

Sta Lucia’s coach Boyet Fernandez will again rely on 6’6” Kelly Williams, who along with rookie Jushua Urbiztondo, Dennis Daa, Ryan Reyes and Nelbert Omolon led the Realtors to a big win over Burger King.

San Miguel Beer, which came from a 100-90 triumph over the Tropang Texters on Oct. 28, is favored over the winless Elasto Painters, who succumbed to their fourth straight setback in the hands of Barako Bull, 81-89 last week.
