MORE rounds of sparring including a lot of hard work is up for Manny Pacquiao when he enters his third week of training at the Summer Capital for his November 14 fight against welterweight champion Miguel Cotto.
Pacquiao was in his toughest day of training last Saturday when he went three hard rounds against Shawn Porter and two with Urbano Antillon, then did more than 30 minutes of isometric exercises only the fittest athletes could handle.

Then he left for Manila around 6 p.m. in his Hummer and a convoy of SUVs. Based on plans, he was to move around the places hardest hit by last week’s storm (Marikina and Pasig) on board a bus laden with relief goods.
Pacquiao braved the strong winds and heavy rains brought by super typhoon Pepeng in Northern Luzon Saturday night to be in Manila to personally distribute relief goods to victims of tropical storm “Ondoy" and celebrate the third birthday of daughter Mary Grace Divine Princess.
Pacquiao returned in Baguio City late Sunday night with another sparring partner, Jose Luis Castillo, expected to arrive today to give Pacquiao a tougher time in the ring. Omar Henry, a Miguel Cotto clone, was supposed to come but failed to reach an agreement with Team Pacquiao.
American trainer Freddie Roach said more rounds of sparring is scheduled for the southpaw from Gen. Santos City who has been into a total of 12 rounds of sparring against heavier guys like Porter and Antillon.
Roach guaranteed a blistering workout awaits Pacquiao when he reports for the training camp at the Shape-Up boxing gym inside the Cooyesan Hotel here.
“It’s going to be more rounds of sparring and lots of hard work," said Roach when asked about what’s in store for the Filipino ring idol for the entire week.
The Mexican warrior, Castillo, best remembered for his memorable, classic title fight with the late Diego Corrales in 2005, has been tapped by Roach to be Pacquiao’s third sparmate in camp as he prepares for his showdown against Puerto Rican Cotto.
“If he’s not in shape, I’ll send him home right away,” Roach said. Sparring is held Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and from three, four and five rounds last week the numbers will gradually rise from six, eight, 10 and 12.
Last Friday, Pacquiao talked to reporters, and said he felt good just two weeks into training.
